The Family
Cedar Edge Farm was founded in 2001 by seven members of the Kocab family: parents Tim and Sue, children Tom, Ted, Katie and Jackie, and daughter-in-law Auburn. Since then, the family has grown through marriages and births, and many of the new additions have brought their own skills to the farm. The rewards of our work on the farm are many: bringing the freshest local produce to market, chatting with customers and other vendors Saturday mornings, working in the greenhouses and fields with our children and grandchildren, and eating perfectly ripe produce in the field where it was grown.
The Farm
Cedar Edge Farm is an organically certified family-run farm that offers the highest quality fruits, vegetables, cut flowers, and vegetable transplants. We are committed to bringing our customers the freshest and best tasting produce that Rhode Island soil can grow and to avoiding the use of synthetic pesticides and herbicides. We take pride in using environmentally friendly farm practices such as biological controls, trap crops, crop rotation, disease resistant varieties, and drip irrigation. Our wide variety of crops changes throughout the season, and we offer traditional favorites like tomatoes and eggplant as well as more unusual fare such as Asian greens and tropical melons.
