Organic Certification
Cedar Edge Farm is proud to have earned organic certification for the fields and greenhouse at the Johnston farm. All of the produce, vegetable transplants, herbs, and cut flowers that we grow at this location are organically certified, guaranteeing our customers the safest as well as the freshest and most delicious product.
In Rhode Island, organic certification is overseen by the Department of Environmental Management’s Division of Agriculture. To obtain certification, a farm must participate in a rigorous application, review, and inspection process. This ensures that producers obtaining organic certification meet all of the National Organic Program standards.
Cedar Edge Farm has never used synthetic pesticides on our crops. Becoming organically certified was a way to reinforce and expand our commitment to environmentally responsible practices.
